Frosty,

Viagra new scripts are down again. Thats seven weeks in a row of declining new scripts.

New 141,877
Refill 75,748

It will be interesting to see what point new scripts will stop going down and refills will level off.

It will be interesting to see if several theories will pan out:
1)Psycogenics improved on Viagra will eventually fail (Edderd).
2)Lower doses not working thus a move to 100mg and more potential side effects.
3)Tolerance/immunity develops to drug?
4)Many men got their first script with one refill and even though they may not have achieved great results with the first script they are not giving up too soon and are getting that one refill to make sure.
5)More and more HMO's announcing intentions not to cover Viagra because of safety concerns.

Still waiting on the FDa's special commision to come out with its findings on the safety isues.

Frostman...maybe the Wall Street Analyst are starting to see the battle between the HMO/ State and Fed agencies/FDA/ etc, etc

Now do all those big countries overseas want to do the same???
Or hold off playing the Viagra game....

Leaves more for VIVUS.

Is it cost of Viagra?? is it the potential abuse?? is it realy safe??
What will these other countries have to giveup if they have to spend $$$$$ for Viagra....

Maybe they'll sit on the fence for a long time and think it over before they repeat the USA experience.....

Food for thought....
VVUS up 20%.....today....that new factory is pumping out MUSE for the overseas markets ....ASTRA and Janssen are ready to sell now...

The second half of this year and 1999 are looking good for Vivus.
