The selective service is alive and well and all males need to sign up at your local post office at the age of 18. As for woman in the service they can not always do the jobs they were given, nor can all the males. I spent 20 years as and Aircraft Structural Technican. I can remember only a small percentage (about 10%) that could do the job well enough and didn't complain. The rest ended up doing sec. duties because the work was to demanding or they just didn't want to do it.

I do belive God made man and woman for different purposes. I'm not saying all woman would freak but the idea of bullets buzzing around there heads might freak them out....I mean it is easy to break a nail in them foxholes. I was kidding with that, but woman are more sensitive then men about things and tend to come unglued in situations like a fender bender, being robbed,etc......not that all men handle it well either.I for one tell you i have been through a lot physically but would not even want to give birth to a baby. And here is why DGIV comes into play, I need it to retire on the kids cost to much to bring up....but I would do it again

Steve

oh yea....go DGIV

The "Draft" ended 20 years ago but Selective Service did not. A Male student in College under age 25 and over age 18 cannot get Financial aid unless they are registered for Selective Service. This does not apply to Women and is only one example.

The Reasoning is that if there is a War there will not be enough in the Present Manpower situation and the Ready Reserves etc. Hence by Males registering for SS there will be a Ready Pool. Both parties avoid remedying this "Double Standard" because they realize that All Women do not wish to join the Military and since they are not sure of the number of those who claim to want this Equality, they hide their heads in the sand and ignore it least they might antagonize a Large Voting Bloc.
