Well, NSCP would probably be riding high still had it not gotten into a "Two men enter one man leaves" cage-fight with the real gorilla out there, MSFT. I hardly think anyone at YHOO will be stupid enough to talk about replacing Windows while putting up "KILL MICROSOFT" signs. I actually thought Microsoft might go after the portal companies next (which would have halved their stock prices in one day), but with all its legal problems, I don't think Microsoft has the stomach for the fight. Besides, nobody has proven yet that you can get big earnings off the portal sites (despite all the hype), another reason for Gates to walk away from this one.
