Les Paul called in sick last night. Bucky Pizzarelli
filled in for Les, playing with the other two members
of the Les Paul Trio. This gave Les' other guitarist
Lou Pollo the chance to step up which he did. Since I
last saw them about 3 years ago the bassist changed.
I didn't get his name but he's every bit as good, if
anything a little better than the old bassist. Bucky
was very good. At this stage he's might play a little
better guitar than Les but he's not nearly the showman
Les is. However my favorite part of Les' playing is the
humour. He intentionally hits notes that are funny.
Bromberg did that a little but no one does it like Les.
The music charge was lowered from $20 to $10 and the
minimum from $15 to $10. The Iridium is an interesting place
but I like to save that for another post in a little while.
Oh, they did fill the place which suprised me.
