Jim,

Brian Halla is the CEO of National Semiconductor. It is his vision for the low cost PC-on-a-chip, and he is transforming the company in that direction at the expense of other areas within the company. Basically, he is betting the farm on PCOAC. At the current stock price, shareholder and internal political pressures are immense. If the PCOAC gamble doesn't show signs soon of paying off (I'd say six months), both the PCOAC strategy and Halla may get the boot. Actually, I think they are already past the point of no return on this strategy, so I think they have no choice but to maintain the course in a do-or-die effort.

Pravin.
