ALL: I have been getting alot of questions during the day on getting filled on fast moving stocks. The amount of success you will have in getting fills will depend on:

1) Your skill in selling into strength, or buying into weakness.

2) Your skill in using the appropriate execution option( SOES, ARCA, ISLAND, TNTO, SELECTNET) in the appropriate situation.

There is no great secret to getting filled. If the stock is falling through the floor or going through the roof, you probably won't get filled!.....That's why it's moving so fast!...no resistance!

The best advice I can give you is to concentrate on on #1. You should never be trying to sell at the exact top or buy at the exact bottom. It is much better to leave the party early than wake up with a hangover;)

Try to place closing limit orders as soon as you open a position
in a spot you would be happy getting filled. This way the market will probably move through you and the emotion of the situation will not put you in a situation you don't want to be in when the market reverses.

Any other ideas anyone has on this issue are welcome!

Cheers!
