Well, ESIO missed earnings by a mile tonite. Consensus was $.65---actual was $.54.

Range was $.62--$.69, mean was $.65, for 4th qtr. FY '98. They make and sell mostly yield-enhancement equipment, and have a diversified line of products.

This is a well-managed company, with a solid balance sheet and no debt. Really a fine company.

Finally going to get a chance to buy it......tomorrow. mcd

Robert:

I don't think you are confused!

If you think that Yahoo is worth the same as AMAT, then just go
out and buy a lot of Yahoo shares!

Yahoo has something to offer--and maybe they will use their
inflated share price to acquire some massive Internet content
company or whatever, but speaking for myself, Yahoo in insanely
too expensive for me right now and I am waiting for a cheaper price
on AMAT!

Best wishes,

Jim

I don't understand it either. Why would people get so excited over a chocolate-flavored soft drink?

Yahoo($87M in sales) is about one good trading day away from passing AMAT($4.8B in sales) in market cap!

I am very confused.

Yeah, can you imagine how those that shorted Yahoo a few days ago must feel? Right, but broke! Glad I stay on the sidelines and refuse to play the game of fools.

This is a good time to buy. The sector is getting jittery to the upside. We're looking for a stampede here and these spikes are indicative of a breakout on the upside. Nobody wants to be left out of a rally that will be in the 100+% category. Three or four stronger issues spiked up in the last hour of closing -- AMAT, ASM, NVLS. Of course, any rally could be ultimately abortive, but I'm looking for some upside action in the next few weeks.

This reminds me of the commercials where there is one Rice Krispies bar left, everyone wants it but nobody wants to make the first move.
