Paul, very few investors in YHOO or AMZN will be able to sell their shares anywhere near current prices. Just a small surplus of sellers over buyers and it goes in the tank. Yes, the short sellers will buy back eventually, but at much lower prices. I know of ZITL shares that were shorted at 60+ that are still short today. In fact short sellers will use their increasing margin to short more (if shares are available) when these stocks start down. It is now a greater fools game, but I don't know how much foolish money is still out there.
