Day 3 "Installation of NT" or "Oh, the horror"

Well, I almost got it, but had to get a little man (actually took it to a NT expert) to finish the installation primarily because NT wouldn't recognize my graphics card, plus I wanted to install a multi-monitor board, more memory and a Zip drive and the IRQ addresses were becoming a problem.

That's the bad news. Now the good news!!!! The computer man told me about U.S. West's (my phone carrier) new ADSL deal coming out this week. It's ADSL (256k) for only $40 per month. What a great deal. You only need one line which handles both phone calls and ISP connection at the same time. For a $110 promotion, U.S. West will supply the modem, the network card and come out and install your phone lines properly. Then you hook-up to any ISP which has a ASDL node (something like that) which there are now several major ones to choose from.

I'm really pumped about this. Speed at a reasonable cost. Not sure about the reliability of the connection, hoping NT and lots of memory takes care of that.

Anybody aware of any downsides to ADSL? Please let me know before I sign up.

Thanks

Brent
