"just look what it did since April of 1997 after it bottomed out at around 32."

You made some excellent points in you post. T is solid. You're not going to lose your money here. The old lady will kick you out a solid quarterly dividend that the little old ladies love. No argument.

While T's stock has performed extremely well in the past 52 weeks (a 100% gain for a Blue Chip is pretty amazing), it had been a dog with fleas for the previous 7 years of what most people would consider to be a rather decent bull market---maybe even the greatest bull market of the decade...I'm just guessing on that one. T languished between around 20-40 dollars for 7 years. The Dow Industrials made a little progress during that time (like moving up approx 300%). Maybe T is poised to make up lost time...Who knows?

Sir, I truly mean no disrespect, but if you really believe that Yahoo!, Excite, AOL, are part of nothing more than "old highway billbords", you might want to consider looking at the newer world of technology a bit more openly. Even T is recognizing the opportunities this new world presents.

You've seen much more change in this world than I have. I appreciate your market insights and tend to agree with them. The communications industry has changed dramatically along with the stock market.
