Interesting,

I think most of knew about this but I didn't know they had to pay anything.

whether the Company could substantiate advertising claims made with respect to its Windrenalin and CD-Speedster-PC products

Now this caught my eye, royalties on NAI products (150k).

In March 1998, the Company was named as a defendant in an action commenced by Network Associates, Inc. ("NAI") relating to royalties on NAI products included within the Utility Belt
The terms of this settlement provide that Syncronys will pay NAI $150,000 over three months, which liability has been accrued.

How are royalties formulated? Most of the cases I have read usally base it on a percentage of the profit. From what I can see, looks like they did ok with Utilty Belt but the money went up in smoke on other failures.
