The Holy Spirit is the only reason Jesus came to Earth, really. No matter what God the Father did in the early centuries, it would take the ancient Jews-- if you actually read the Bible and read it as a history book-- only long enough for children to grow to a place where they could run with their own mind, then they would usually be back to worshipping satan with the pagans because that was the sex, drugs and rock and roll of the day. Non-stop, and with the added excitement of human sacrifice, which satan has loved hooking human beings on since the beginning of time. We definitely have a loathesome gene pool in each of us from the past, I can tell you that. The most blessed have equally enough saint like ancestry to block it out from taking over once again. Just genetic common sense. First you must be born again, and then you receive the Spirit if you ask for it. I didn't even ask, those who knew better prayed for it for me and I thought they were all sweet, but nuts. And beneath me because after all I believed in dead Hindus who lived in the jungle without eating for thousands of years, and were still quite alive. Or I guess they were 35,000 years old, like Babaji. The moral of this story is that IF you are called, one day you will be chosen even though you may never understand why. As to the buddhist thing, if you want to wear saffron, beg in the streets for trash food, and spend your life with silent men banging little gongs, and do nothing else in life, and hope merely that you might come back again as a cockroach or higer life form, and IF that makes sense to you, and IF that does not sound insane--Hey, go for it!! But if it doesn't quite hit the nail right on the head and you just DON'T feel certain that you know that you know that you know that this HAS to be the true path to take, then I hope with all my heart you will continue your very open minded walk down the Path, which you are on, by the way. I speak always in riddles, except to those I know to be what they are, and then I can speak plain English because it is heard and understood. So, therefore, if you understand the riddle talk then we are communicating well. If you don't, we never will and I have failed in your case to lead you any closer at all to what you are looking for. I know Him well, and you would not be disappointed at all. Why don't we study John 14 through 17 a little? Perhaps this should be a Bible study thread also, since I want to go into the life of David in depth because I believe it is time we look at him closely for some reason. Also precious John. You realize he was the human being Jesus loved more than the others, so I suppose he must have been something quite amazing as Jesus was surrounded for the most part by totally amazing and fascinating men and women to begin with. He did have a special love for John, and although you may not know it, John tried to go die with Jesus, but they threw him out immediately. Then later men tried to boil him in oil, and it is said that didn't work. Perhaps that's because he tried so hard at first to go die with Jesus. It's interesting.

Dear Gregory: About the Holy Spirit. God forbid if I get in over my head but I'm going to take a swim in the surf on the north shore of Hawaii, without a surf board. I witnessed to a man for 3 years, from 1993 to 1996, to no avail. I was so "annoyed" at his stubbornness that I prayed about the situation and I felt the Lord was telling me to just hang it up; tell the man that the Spirit was "close" to withdrawing from him and that if the Holy Spirit ever did it would be impossible to find salvation. So I did tell him that and have not spoken to the man since. Well praise the Lord. He came to my home church Sunday while I was out of town and accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit was just getting warmed up while I was totally exhausted. The Holy Spirit is known as Comforter, Teacher, Caller, Companion, Wisdom, Planner, Powerful, Almighty, Healer, Presence, Interpreter, Peace Speaker and on and on. You have already met Him. ! When you Know Him as your personal indwelling comforter and peace giver and joy maker it is my hope and prayer that He invite you in for the big plunge on the north shore during the winter time when the waves are 30 foot tall.
