Well this sales problem vs. execution problem is what Im trying to figure out. In the case of Manu all I know is that this qtr they have a whole lot of new customers, they even won some discrete deals - 4 of the new customers have been announced already. From the outside, just in terms of noise, this looks to me like the best qtr Manu has ever had. Now, because of the terrible "execution" problems, they will probably be very conservative in reporting so its unclear how the stock will perform in the next 6 mos. Well, I doubt it will decline unless there is a mkt meltdown, etc.

If that is whats going to happen to Vantive then I would say buy the stock in the low teens. But it definitely feels different. For one thing, theres all this competition from these small players and its hard to see how that will play out. And as Konehead mentioned there have been all these other misses in the space.

So it looks like there could be two flavors of execution problems here?
