Tombet, I am getting those same feelings! Could it really, finally happen?

It looks like Holland has managed to solve their defensive problems and will be ready. You haven't seen much of him yet, but Aron Winter is an excellent player, better than Numan in my opinion. He scored the tieing goal against Brazil in '94, and is a great header of the ball. As for Overmars not playing, that is just smoke. He'll most likely be put in sometime in the second half.

I've read some of the news service headlines and it strikes me that the Brazilians are a bit arrogant about tomorrow, though it seems an arrogance tinged with fear. One player said, "We give up a lot of goals, but we always score more than our opponents." That sounds absurd to me, almost as if they are planning on giving up on defense. They do so at their peril. The Dutch defense is not just going to wilt. And they know Ronaldo's style well: he played for PSV Eindhoven for two years.

Also, don't forget that the game is being played at night, which I believe favors the Dutch. And this is in Europe - the only non-Europeans to win in Europe were Brazil way back in 1958. History is against them.

The Brazilians are not playing as a team, but rather relying on individual brilliance to put them through. Holland, on the other hand, have come together as a quite unified team, with just as much talent as the Brazilians, if not more. Their passing and ball-control are certainly better, and so is their keeper, Van der Sar. I have a feeling the Dutch will control the game from the outset in terms of possession, and this may frustrate the Brazilians, while certainly tiring them. Look for Ze Carlos to make quite a few critical mistakes. You know the Dutch will attack him from the start, and the pressure on him must be enormous.

Holland are not Norway, nor are they Denmark - two disciplined sides playing team football which gave Brazil quite a bit of trouble. No, they are much better. Those two sides do not even begin to approach the kind of talent loaded into the Dutch side. If Holland can score early on, we may even see a rout. I am not kidding. This Brazil is vastly overrated, as I have stated since the beginning of the tournament. Chile and Denmark? Come on. They haven't proved a thing yet to me. And they have already lost, while Holland remain undefeated.

I'm hoping for two quick goals by the Dutch. If that happens, it's Adios Brasilia. I don't believe they have the class to come back from a serious deficit - not against a team as technically excellent and disciplined as the Dutch. But two quick goals is of course asking for a lot. We'll see tomorrow. I'm heading for Amsterdam later on this week if we win. My friends and I will be there for some celebration - that is, if we are not thrice-cursed and lose to home-team France in the final. Lordy, don't let that happen!!

See you all tomorrow night for the post-game!

My friends Jeroen and Reinoud were shown on Argentine national television celebrating on the Leidseplein (Amsterdam) Saturday night. I hope there's more to come Sunday!

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP HOLLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The world's most expensive defender Stam (10M pound transfer to Man Utd) is going to be the big key for Holland tomorrow. Will he able to handle himself against Ronaldo and Rivaldo? Also, with Overmars out--Kluivert must have a big match. Arsenal is still very hot after Patrick--and all eyes will be on him. Bergkamp needs help tomorrow--otherwise Brasil looks too strong for Holland.
