David: I really believe this stock will be kept down through options expiration date. I don't care what good news materializes, they want it under 10 and there's no reason to think they won't get it there. If they stared Agouron's 77mm offer, geneva, valentine in the face and didn't flinch, what makes anyone think they're going to cave in at the slightest good news. They KNOW they can intimidate investors now, and their confidence in that regard will carry them forward to their ultimate goal: get it under 10 before they think about covering. So now the game comes down to institutional investors versus shorts. If institutional investors want to buy the stock, it will rise; if they aren't purchasers, look out below. By the way, there will always be a certain short interest in any stock. How big of a percentage can fluctuate. Finally, Lehman is NEUTRAL on the stock...a lot of misinformation bandied about how they recommended it. I don't think it's true, but I've been wrong before (I thought this would be 18-24 by now, for example;)
