Good morning all, yet another telco has realized that the times are changing: Japan Telecom mulls tie-up with foreign carrier TOKYO, July 7 (Reuters) - Japan Telecom Co Ltd president Haruo Murakami said on Tuesday that the company aimed to forge an alliance with a foreign carrier by the autumn. ''We will miss the chance for an alliance if we don't act by the autumn,'' Murakami, who assumed presidency last week, told a news conference. He added, however, that details on possible partners and areas of cooperation had not yet been decided. Murakami said he felt the need for Japan Telecom to quickly install a global network system to offer frame relay and other data transmission services to multinational companies. He said such a network would help Japan Telecom extend its services into software content and other new areas of business.
