The answer is of course, that nobody is going to be buying Amazon or Yahoo anytime soon for today's capitalization, or yesterday's, or the day before's. Notice how the "analysts" and market commentators have ceased in the last couple of days explaining that "these stocks are going up because there is speculation that a big media firm will buy one or some of them out."

I find it comical and more than a little unusual that even the market commentators and analysts are beginning to grasp at really lame "explanations" for stock price movement. Nobody wants to admit publicly that these stock valuations are the biggest embarrassement to hit Wall Street in a long time. You can almost feel the tension building as people wait for the inevitable reality to hit.
