Is Compaq a good stock to own? Depends on what type of investor you are. If a day trader, perhaps there are others with more volatility where more money can be made ie: internet stocks, Rambus, and Dell I am not optimistic that PC sales will be good this Q because I believe many consumers were waiting for Windows 98 to buy, channel clearing etc. Short term I expect little upward movement and maybe even back to the mid/low teens. Who knows though? Looking out over a year, I think Compaq after digesting Digital and refining the business will do quite well as will the stock owners. I like what I see and believe I will profit nicely. Day to Day stuff is for the traders. For me this is a long term hold. Regards to all Neil
