Hi Daniel, I don't think there is any further contact with the download site. I decided that I would like to keep backups of the daily update files prior to them being unzipped and the database updated. I can then copy them to my other computer and have them both updated. In the quotpls2 directory is the file qp-proc.exe, I renamed it to 1qp-proc.exe, the automatic updating is then disabled. You MUST manually go to the quotpls2 directory and 'double' click on 1qp-proc.exe to update the database. If you want to keep copies of the downloaded files, you can go to the directory qp2sdata/incoming and copy the ####.zip (daily stock data) and ####.cdz (weekly IRL data). I don't get the fund data so I don't know what that file extension would be.

Based on this experience, I dont think there is further contact.

Hope this helps,
Good Trading to You,
Roy

Can anyone say if it is OK to disconnect from QP2 once the updating display panels begin to show? Is there any further communication between the application and the QP2 site once that process starts?

Yes you can disconnect...
