both companies say they are committed to closing the deal. they are still waiting for a response from the govt on antitrust, but Lucent, Ericson, Ditec are competitors. this is the last approval they need according to both companies. you can call coherrent investor relations at (703) 729-6400 and ask them directly.

Yes, there is risk. In fact, very substantial risk in buying CCSC in hopes of ending up with TLAB. I own CCSC and would love to see it take place, but the spread has been widening steadily. Yesterday, the pricing indicated what I estimated to be a 50/50 chance of the deal going through. With todays action the market is saying that the odds have worsened further.
