Richard,
I have never followed the cotton market, and your post has made me regret that failing. Guess I am stuck with T shirts and jeans, eh???

Richard - Back in the stone ages (1960's), the government supported the price of cotton by buying it from farmers and storing it in warehouses in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas (and probably other places as well).

I know from personal experience that there were hundreds of thousands of bales (1 bale = 500 lbs) of cotton in storage in those days. I would be shocked if that wasn't also the case today.
