Imation Announces Pricing, Availability for SuperDisk USB Products

Imation's SuperDisk USB Drive and Mac-Formatted SuperDisk Diskettes will be available via Apple's retail, catalog and educational channels, as well as many of Imation's distribution channels. Global availability of these products will follow in coming months...

''As the leading replacement for the 1.44 MB diskette drive in new PCs, SuperDisk technology is a natural fit for the capacity and compatibility needs of the Mac user,'' said Ray Meifert, SuperDisk business director, Imation. ''As the introduction of the exciting new Apple iMac nears, we're pleased that iMac purchasers will be able to specify a SuperDisk drive to accompany their new computers - right at the time of purchase. With the tremendous excitement building around SuperDisk technology, we think that iMac buyers will find Imation's SuperDisk USB Drive the high-capacity storage device best suited to meet their needs.''

Superdisc and HiFi make sense to buy for an iMac, which have floppy compatibility. Why bottle up your system with an expensive proprietary-only format that Iomega offers?
