Larry,

This is the same country that gave us Tianamen Square and continues to require mandatory abortions after one child. They have a history of making incredible demands and either lying or completely ignoring their part of many agreements. Any kind of relationship or deal set up with China is a huge mistake.

I totally disagree with you. Please get elected as a president and act to ignore China totally. The last couple of presidents have not done yet (including President Bush and Reagon. In fact, Clinton critized US's China policy until he got elected). May be someone can chip in and help. China is going to be that way with or without US preachment. Please recognize it. It is a country US can not strip down. It is no Soviet Unions (arm race) or Cuba and Iraq (embargo). Please do not use US standards to judge other country's internal affairs.

Brian H.

The part that got me was characterizing Mao as some benevolent leader who made a "mistake" in the "Great Leap Forward". Tens of thousands DIED or were purged. Mao was not benevolent and the Great Leap Forward was a lot more serious than a "mistake". As for that crap about looking for the best solution, how do you explain the Tianammen Square episode. I suppose that was another mistake. Incredible. What a fantasy world . JLA

Larry: I would be willing to bet that neither Ms. Dragonfly or Brian H. have ever been near China. Yet they are experts. JLA
