Companies Sign Agreement to Jointly Market Amteva's
Unified Messaging Plus And Netscape Next Generation Messaging Server Code
Named 'Troopers ISP'

GLEN ALLEN, Va., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Amteva Technologies, Inc. and
Netscape Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: NSCP) today announced that
they have signed an agreement to jointly market Amteva's carrier-class IP-based
unified messaging solution, Unified Messaging Plus(TM), with Netscape's next
generation messaging server software for telecommunications companies and
Internet Service Providers (ISPs), code named "Troopers ISP."

Amteva's Unified Messaging Plus combined with Netscape's "Troopers ISP"
includes e-mail, voice mail and fax services over IP, as well as single number
reach. It allows any customer with a telephone to access and deliver voice
messages, fax mail and e-mail messages from a single message box over the
Internet.

"Amteva's Unified Messaging Plus combined with "Troopers ISP" provides an
open, scalable, extensible unified messaging solution," said Korak Mitra, vice
president of messaging at Netscape. "Together our products enable Telcos and
ISPs to provide carrier-class unified messaging services to millions of customers."

Richard Hyatt, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Amteva, stated,
"We're pleased that we will be working jointly with Netscape's sales force to
aggressively move Amteva's Unified Messaging Plus product into the market.
Recognized as the industry's leading carrier-class IP-based messaging solution,
we're excited that Unified Messaging Plus takes maximum advantage of the
technology of an industry leader like Netscape. With Unified Messaging Plus and
'Troopers ISP', CLECs, LECs, Telcos, ISPs and integrators can leverage the
industry's most robust, scalable unified messaging solution."

Once Amteva's Unified Messaging Plus is installed it can support virtually any
IP-based messaging application because of its open, scalable and extensible
architecture. Amteva's Unified Messaging Plus provides support to major industry
standards including Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Internet Mail
Access Protocol (IMAP4), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)/MIME, Voice
Profile Internet Messaging (VPIM) and HTTP/HTML. It also supports centralized
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management and web-based
administration. By supporting industry standards Netscape and Amteva are driving
down the cost of implementing new services, improving time- to-market for
introducing new applications, and providing comprehensive operations,
administration, maintenance and provisioning capabilities.

"Troopers ISP" will provide high-performance Internet Mail Access Protocol
(IMAP) support that will enable highly-scalable and reliable messaging support for
millions of users. Customers will also be able to combine value- added messaging
