All right Bob, please explain to me how long it would take for the light from the closest star (alpha centauri) to reach the earth. Now explain to me how many stars would be visible after 20 years of their creation. Now go back to Genesis and explain how this is possible assuming that the speed of light is a constant.

Here is another question. If the Bible says that Joshua made the sun stand still, does that not imply that the sun ordinarily orbits the earth? Undoubtedly you will respond that that is a literary device, and I would agree. So the issue as far as I am concerned is that people with open, inquiring minds need to find out what really happened and not rely on "facts" which are based on nothing more than myths and literary devices

The issue is not whether a divine being exists. Rather, the question is whether that being's activities are accurately chronicled in the Bible. I have cited only two relatively simple examples. It is possible to show you hundreds. The number is unimportant. The importance is that just one inconsistency or inaccuracy is logically sufficient to demonstrate that the Bible is not an infallible source of information.
