Mohan: Re Buying Dell: Have also been re-arranging my Dell holdings considering the following factors: There is plenty of money for tech stock ventures(and speculation) as demonstrated by the Web stocks. Whoever sold has the cash, whoever bought has more margin to work with. And the gambling instinct is alive and well. Techs that appear to have a good future should then continue to do OK. We may get a buying window tomorrow if Mot does as badly as expected. IMO that big write off has got to look bad, and I don't see they have great near term ventures they can talk about My guess (only a guess ) is that Yhoo will have OK earnings, based on the amount of recent buying, i.e. I think the buyers had some valid reason to invest at those prices. But no way to tell which direction the stock will take after earnings( could be over-bought). Thus it is a bit hard (as usual) to tell what Dell will do before July 17 th so I hold no July options. But if Dell drops tomorrow morning I will be buying. Thats because when MD is thru talking at the meeting about 4, 5 or 6 times the industry avg growth rate, the status of Phase 3 activities mentioned at the last meeting, and perhaps a new Phase 4 growth chart, then Dell is headed up. So I hold what I can afford to risk in the ITM August options and am buying some Nov's, and will pick up an occasional 2001 Leap. Dell will beat the street estimates at earnings time. Good luck Sig
