LOS ANGELES, July 6 (Reuters) - Hambrecht & Quist on Monday
started coverage of Internet search software provider Inktomi
Corp with a buy rating.
-- said company could be a key architect for the next wave
of Internet growth.
-- said Inktomi's software allows multiple computer
workstations to work together as one scalable computer, which
is the "single most important" element of Internet software.
-- said company intents to develope additional applications
on top of its proprietary software platform.
-- Inktomi shares were up 16-1/2 at 64-1/8 by
mid-afternoon.
