mmeggs, I think I speak for the rest of this thread in first welcoming you on board, and second claiming that there is no such thing as too much information. The more information an investor can have about a company, the better, IMO.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that we on this board need this information, but it would be a welcome addition. If you look back at older posts, you will see that there are tons of clips of, quotes from, and links to various research materials. A lot of the discussion here is about the company, its businesses and what kind of growth we expect from our own analyses.

I, for one, constantly post messages from our sister message board on the Motley Fool on America Online, particularly by one poster who knows a lot about the satellite business. Of course, it takes a long time to actually trust someone on one of these boards, and I would say that the same should go for you.

happy investing,

geoff

mmeggs: Welcome. The LOR thread here is one of the best, as are the "companion" boards (Qcom, GSTRF, ...). Personally, I'd love some detail out of VL, S&P, et al. It's the individual pieces that make the whole picture emerge from the jigsaw puzzle.

If you've been around some of the other boards, you may have gotten used to wearing an asbestos suit. You can hang it up at the door here.

Looking forward to your participation. ...Tim

Welcome from me as well. As you will have noticed, the level of discussion at SI is very disparate. Until about two months ago, Lor and Gstrf threads had very high levels, with very little touting, rah rah, TA, or other BS. Then came the political firestorm. My prejudice is that the rightists have had the real ax to grind, and been by far the more obnoxious. But it is true that both sides of the political spectrum have attacked each other over the Republican assusations that Loral has been front and center in Clinton campaign and even national security corruption. (Personally I'm actually an independent who really does vote for candidates in each principal political party, depending, and even fairly equally, as it has turned out.)

Anyway, the political storm seems to have receded and perhaps passed. If so, I am sure the great majority of us are immensely thankful.

But with regards to analyst reports, sure, we'd love for you to post the text.

Now keep in mind that most of the people here are at least fairly sophisticated, and also at least fairly long term oriented, and are little disposed to give a rats .... as to whether a broker has Lor or Gstrf on its near term buy or accumulate or hold list.

However, detailed brokerage analysis, talking about 2000 or 2002 projected earnings and cash flow, or competitive position re: new entrants.... that could be of real interest.

See, the thing is, many of us feel we know enough to write a passable brokerage report any ol time. So, that so and so says buy or hold is nada.

However, reasoned analysis is always welcome, always worth checking against other info and analysis sources.

So please. Do bring it on. <gg>
