<<<Off Topic>>>Re:"... At least tell us what has become of this
stock tip in 2 weeks, will you, pleeeeease."

Hi Thomas + thread,
The 'tip' was just my little joke.<G>
That reminds me of a crooked scheme I heard of which goes like this:

Say I'm a crooked investment advisor. I get a list of (lets say) 10,000 names of people who buy stock. I send each a letter offering my services and telling about my great new secret stock picking system. To prove my system, I give each a tip on a stock which will go up the next week. ---I pick 10 different stocks, each in volatile sectors, and tip 1000 of the investors to each one. The next week maybe half my picks go up. I forget the 5000 investors for whom I picked stocks that went down, and write again to the 5000 to whom I gave winning tips. This time I give them another tip (same system) and offer to sell them my 'service' for say $2000. This is repeated week after week. After a month, there are still many hundreds of investors who I've given 4 or 5 winners in a row, and who are bound to be thinking I might really be onto something with my secret system. More than a few may be willing to send in the $2K.

There are sure to be lots of variations on this.
One certainly has to be careful.

regards,

diana
