Yahoo is not a tech company. It is just one of data organizers on the net. Don't you see how quick others to get into its market? It took only one month for Netscape! You can build your own portal just by using Communicator4.0! Is the market big enough to have all of them to co-exist in the internet world? The answer is yes. As soon as their sites stay on the web, they will be there for ever. Will all of them make money from their web sites? No, of course not! Small one, like the one you build by yourself, may only get few hits per day, probably most from yourself. The one with grand names will get millions hits. Will the mostly hit sites make more money? You may say yes, but should say no. The sites like those we visit daily, or even hourly won't make money for the hosts because we only pay attention on the news and prices. Those sites to make money are those your wife and kids go weekly, or even monthly. They got time to click the ads for having fun. Who will become the final winner among those portals with grand names? You may say "No, I don't know," but should say "Yes, I know!" Those who have the popular browsers, such as Netscape, will be the winners. Those who have no own browsers, such as Yahoo will lose gradually in a long run. Ask your kids how they start their search online? Did they reach Yahoo first before the searching or simply click the "Search" button on the browser they use? All of the new comer of the internet will do the same thing as your kids did. Netscape took one month to build its portal. How long will be for Yahoo to build its own browser? You must know the answer already. So, long NSCP and short YHOO are the way to bring you fortune in years. Good luck! :-)

Netscape has a few more points of downside tomorrow then I expect some serious buying to come in...this thing is so volatile even a casual comment from management could set it off.If a deal comes, and this is still guesswork at best, names like GTE, Sprint and the various RBOCs come to mind not a broadcasting company. A foreign partner is a possibility too.
