Hi, everyone..does anyone feel that Aug 15 calls are a reasonable play at this point, or is more time needed for takeover rumors to germinate and get the stock moving up again? Thanks.... also, why is vntv a more attractive takeover target than say, clarify or remedy?

SAP 0% -- are they building?

Actually, they bought K&V (a German company), and then spent months rebuilding it. The scope of functionality includes only SFA I believe. I will probably spend a day this month reviewing it in detail. SAP's stated direction is growth through construction, not acquisitions.

Anyone willing to put odds on Oracle or PeopleSoft? Less than 1 in 10?

How about:

CA - Their Advanced Help Desk(AHD)/operations suite does not work smoothly for Unicenter nor is it Y2K compliant. These guys are know for buying v. building products. The SFA products would be a nice addition as well.
MSFT - They are going to need these products once NT is stable and can be used in fortune 1000 shops for mission critical systems. Granted they do not normally purchase but these products would make a nice fit into the Back Office suite of products.
Platninum - Trying to compete in the network management arena. The product mix would fit nicely into their strategy for total end-to-end solution.

Just a few of the many that could use these products should VNTV want to shop the company.
