I would not be nearly as behind in answering my messages, except that about half the time, when I hit the "Submit Response" button after typing a message, there is a gray screen with the little note "Requested page not found" or something like that. Sometimes, by cancelling preview or using fixed font, I can get it to take the message the second time, but mostly this does not work, and I have to go offline and start all over again.

I thought my dying mouse was causing the problem, but now I have a young, fresh one, and it is still happening.

Any techies with suggestions? I have a CompaQ Presario 4122 computer with the memory doubled, if that is any help.

Thanks in advance!

<<Duncan, you seem to be comparing apples and oranges again when you discuss
studies of education in America as opposed to that in other developed countries. In
most countries, for example, children must provide their own school books, so their
per capita student expenses will be lower. Several of the European countries have
mandatory preschool starting at age three, so the children are better prepared.
America's population is far less homogenous than any of the other countries. For
example, in California one quarter of the children do not speak English. Our divorce
rate is higher, and the hours per day spent watching television are, as well. All of
these facts create advantages for children in other societies, and disadvantages for
children here.>>

Duncan, "wrong" doesn't cut it as an answer, especially for someone who is so highly educated as you are. I offered a very logical refutation to that essay about comparing education in Europe to the situation in America, and about apples and oranges, as well. So now it is your turn to tell me WHY I am wrong, or just admit that I am right!!
