PSUN was involved in a confrence in nantucket, MA yesterday morning. does anyone have any news on what happened there? maybe that why psun went down a buck (prob. not). also, has anyone noticed that PSUN goes up and down w/ the market? with the good economy right now, i guess that good.

Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. Reports June Sales Increase 51 Percent

(Nasdaq: PSUN - news) Thursday reported sales of $29 million for the five week period ended July 5, 1998, an increase of 51 percent over sales of $19.2 million for the comparable five week period ended July 6, 1997. Same store sales increased 14 percent for the period.

Greg Weaver, chairman and chief executive officer said: ''June was a very strong month for Pacific Sunwear and marked 32 months of consecutive same store sales increases. Our same store sales were up in all geographic regions with young mens, juniors, shoes and accessories all producing excellent same store sales increases.

''During June we opened our 300th store and expect to end the second quarter with approximately 309 stores in operation. By year end we plan to be operating 342 stores. Our new stores continue to trend well and in line with both 1996 and 1997 average first year sales of $1 million.''

Sales for the first 22 weeks of fiscal 1998 were $110.2 million, an increase of 54 percent over sales of $71.6 million for the same period of fiscal 1997. Same store sales increased 14 percent for the first 22 weeks of fiscal 1998. <<
