bRiAn...you are correct on how MM's purchase and sell stocks, however, it is much more complicated than what it appears. They must provide liquidity in the stock they are trading. Here's an example. Lets say I am a MM. I can purchase stock (bid) in XYZ for .50, and after that purchase, I can sell that stock (ask) for .51. If I do this for 1000 shares of stock, it appears as though 2000 shares have been traded. But, as a MM, I am buying 1000 shares, and selling the same 1000 shares, so in essence, only 1000 shares have been traded. For a better understanding of this, you might check out this web sight. www.pristine.com. There is a section in there on how to become a MM by using a program called The Executioner, and placing your own bid and ask prices on stocks. In effect, stepping in front of the MM's and trading direct over the board. Here, as an independent MM, you are looking for market depth on the ask or bid side, and a spread of at least 3/8. I don't know if that helps. I hope all those that sold at .21 didn't lose to much, if any, and are ready to jump back in at a 45 and get behind this company.
Also, it may be obvious, but I did not check for spelling, my dictionary is holding up one side of my refrigerator, which works great.
