Mr. R. Glenn Knowles reports
The Beta release of VC INFO, a comprehensive Web site database of listed company information has been released. The database can be accessed at vcinfo.vse.ca and will be available on a free trial basis through July 25.
VC INFO provides investors with extensive, in-depth information on all listed companies. The database includes prospectus filings, financial statements, financings, technical reports, director affiliations/holdings and more. VC INFO features an interface that enables the investor to examine affiliations between people, businesses, and listed companies for market research and analysis.
The VC INFO database is organized into four distinct areas of general information: company, security, person and business. Advanced search capabilities offer the ability to customize inquiries using up to four major criteria at a time. VC INFO also provides a company tracking facility whereby the system will automatically monitor developments for a customized list of companies.
After the Beta period ends on July 25, access to VC INFO will be available on a subscription basis. Subscribers will be able to choose between different usage plans that match their individual needs. To subscribe, customers can use the VSE's E-commerce service by arranging credit card payment in a secure environment.
As this service is in Beta mode, the VSE will be unable to offer customer support. Consistent with Beta releases, this site may experience periodic outages as upgrades are processed. These outages do not need to be reported.
VC INFO is an integral part of the VSE's recently redeveloped Web site (www.vse.ca) and is another example of the exchange's continuing commitment to the use of technology. The integrated Web site provides the most comprehensive source of listed company information available.
