Someone on the Yahoo thread is reporting this as a bogus note.
I've checked myself and haven't seen any press release on PR Newswire
or anywhere else.

I have every reason to believe the post is bogus. Not a friend of the Hackworth family and so can't say for sure, but I believe tomorrow we will find this is a hoax done in very poor taste.

The facts:
1) The post was made at 11:13 EDT (8:13 PDT) from an article supposedly released at 8:11 PDT. Awfully quick for someone to find a news release and post it to Yahoo.
2) The news release is supposedly from PRNewswire. Yahoo carries PRNewswire articles but does not have this release as of 12:50 EDT. They are usually much more prompt, having articles within 15 minutes or less. My other on-line news sources also do not have this article.
3) There is no copy of the release on the Cirrus Logic website (not too surprising considering it is after working hours).

Other things that make me suspicious:
1) Why would CRUS make a news release this evening when everyone has gone home from work instead of early in the morning, which would still be well before the market opens?
2) Why does the release refer to Cirrus Logic Corporation instead of Cirrus Logic, Inc.? Don't think the CRUS public relations department would make this mistake. More likely the mistake of some twisted amateur.
3) Miscellaneous other non-CRUS-sounding wording and minor grammatical errors throughout the document.
