John, Out of curiosity from a lurker, what happened to Guy Murrel ? To: +rjbac (1551 ) From: +Murrelpr Saturday, Mar 28 1998 1:32PM ET Reply # of 8457 Hello everyone. My name is Guy Murrel and I own and operate Murrel Public Relations in Boulder, Colorado. For the past nine months I have worked on behalf of Golden Eagle, providing pr and investor relations services to the company. Having kept current of the SI thread I thought it time to make a personal comment or two concerning the company and its representations. First off, we have tried to keep the investment community abreast of company developments without "hyping" the company too much. In fact, many calls I take at the office complain that we should pump more news out regardless of its merit (Where's the releases!). I also believe most new comers never noticed this company or its news releases until the major volume increases that occurred about a month ago when the stock dropped to a nickel. Concerning Friday's release -- once it became apparent that the much anticipated geological report was not going to be ready by the end of next week, I recommended we tell you a.s.a.p. Believe me, we have been waiting for the damn thing as much as you and honestly hoped to get it out on time. There was no grand strategy to weed out investors or play any games. I thought you would appreciate learning about the delay from the company, not from the rumor factory. I can just imagine the speculation had we said nothing. In fact, most people who call me at the office (daily in many cases) could tell it was going to be delayed. I told people straight out it was going to be tight and if it wasn't going to happen we'd issue a release. Maybe we could have handled it better I don't know. I do find it interesting that nobody mentioned the good news (except Dow Jones) that Golden Eagle is obtaining much needed operating capital to help ramp up production as planned. We need to produce (in my opinion) as much as we need that study. With revenue GE can continue its reserve studies, expand operations and gain respect in the industry as a producer. It's no secret Bolivia has rich gold reserves. To me the bigger question is can GE make it happen. Like all start-ups, the company has hit its fair share of potholes along the way. Having worked with many start-ups (mostly high technology firms) I find it quite normal. But I can tell you this company is determined to make this thing work from a business standpoint. If GE does that, I think the stock will take care of its self. So those are some of my thoughts. I appreciate all the comments and respect the frustration some of you have felt. Golden Eagle certainly deserves some of the criticism. I also encourage you to e-mail any questions about GE's Bolivian operations to me at murrelpr@aol.com. I'll do my best to get them answered. Thanks -- Guy
