Ken, FYI, I hear from a high-ranking source at the Pentagon that if Hashimoto's party retains control in Japan (and he isn't forced to resign), then somewhere around the 22nd of this month there will be a Japan summit meeting in Washington, part of which will include a joint task force on Y2K.
