Mike, NASDAQ, where VVUS is listed opens at 9:30am Eastern but premarket trading occurs and can be seen with many services.

I think I replied 12 minutes after the marked opened. And with L2 you can see the marked action from some time before the open at 9.30.

Or just call me psysic ;-)
