On this date in music history in 1910 fashion designer and musician
Harold C. Fox was born.

The No. 1 "Billboard" Pop Hit in 1942 was "Sleepy Lagoon," Harry James
Orchestra.

Bon Scott was born Ronald Belford in Kirriemuir, Scotland in 1946. The
lead singer for AC/DC died February 19, 1980 of alcohol abuse and was
replaced by Brian Johnson.

The No. 1 "Billboard" Pop Hit in 1952 was "Auf Wiederseh'n Sweetheart,"
Vera Lynn.

Debbie Sledge of Sister Sledge was born in 1954. The group's biggest
hit was the million-selling No. 2 song "We Are Family" in 1979.

The No. 1 "Billboard" Pop Hit in 1962 was "Roses Are Red (My Love),"
Bobby Vinton.

Jim Morrison was buried in Paris' Pere Lachaise Cemetery in 1971, his
family having disowned him. The often vandalized grave has become a
shrine for fans.

Paul McCartney's Wings made its concert debut in 1972 in Chateauvillon,
France. It was McCartney's first live performance since the breakup of The
Beatles.

President George Bush presented a national Medal of Art to country
