Father E., Microsoft's bugs have created an entire _industry_! :)

A computer consultant told me yesterday that he has read that Windows 98 in full of bugs. You would think that would slow down sales, no?

WIN 98 is more stable than WIN 95 (of course the volcano Mount St. Helens is more stable than WIN 95). Microsoft is readying the first major update and has already sent a beta copy to evaluators. It will include some new support drivers, such as DirectX 6.0 support for AMD's 3DNow! chips, but is more a bug-fix than they want to admit. WIN 98 is easily updated over the internet - a nice feature compared to WIN 95. I've yet to determine how well it keeps tract of updated drivers and windows support dlls -if it is not greatly improved over WIN 95 then MS developers should be chastized in the media for being stupid idiots.
