I disagree to the fact that Wall Street does not know the focus of 3Com. They do as 3Com has repeatedly hammered into them that its the edge and small to medium sized business (which according to them represents most growth and hence most lucrative). But some on Wall Street are just not convinced that it can make lot of money like Cisco's market but that is what 3com has to prove.

most small investors will invest in a stock well before if becomes obvious. analysts do not lead the charge, but pull up the rear. mgmt at coms may be changing, we both agree mgmt has diminished expectations, so as to beat them. i see this as mgmt now guiding expectations, and gaining favors with shareholders and analysts. remember how wide the high and low for estimates were last q?

with inventory under control after a 2 q attempt, mgmt should be able to guide investors.
