Penni, I think everyone is going to be confused by your post, because you read mine and answered it before I edited out the reference to crummy New York salsa. Contrary to the oft-voiced opinions of several regulars here, I do read posts several times, and on my last reading of yours is when I realized that you had said it was Albertson's store brand, not a Northeastern imposter. Dear friend, most women do evict the rotten vegetable scammers living rent-free in their hydrators. They do this by making periodic inspections of the neighborhood. I know this is a foreign concept to Pisces women, and I have only heard of the concept, not actually practiced it, so don't go into shock at the suggestion or anything! I have a bottle of very hot sauce standing guard, like a scarecrow, but this is of limited benefit, since my greens are still all wilted and some former purchases never made into salad are utterly unrecognizable without complete autopsies, and who has the time when we are busy writing prose and poetry? Thank goodness your son has innate good sense, and does not consume everything he finds in his backpack. I know my down-to-earth daughter is vigilant about pull dates, and must think that only she stands in the way of our entire family getting deathly ill from my cooking. And she doesn't buy the argument that yogurt is ALREADY curdled, and can be safely eaten several months later, either. She is very, very smart!
