If it makes you feel any better, ETrade hasn't let me short any more shares today either. It happens. This is why you can't always wait to be sure to short a stock that flies like this one did. If you do, you might not get your chance (unless you are with Datek, apparently).

AT 115 you would have had a wonderful short, would have been able to get out at the close today with a tidy profit.
I used Datek, and it took a little longer than their (usual) instantaneous fills.
I do feel much better, it was touch and go for a while there!

Too bad about not getting in: do you have a short position at all in AMZN? The reason its the first time I shorted is I'm afraid of shorting. The reason I chose this time is, I think this is "the" short opportunity of the year.
But on reflection, the funny thing is I could have gone long at my 107+ and made a profit today had I watched and gotten out up in the plus 116-117 range. It only stayed there for a few minutes, however.
