(FAF - news) would not comment on the company's market activity. Stock in the company was trading up 7 at 101-3/4 toward the end of the trading day. The exchange said it asked the company issue a statement indicating any corporate developments that would explain ''unusual market activity'' in its stock. First American, which sells real estate financial services, told the NYSE that its policy is not to comment on unusual market activity.
