Rizzo, you don't understand this. Yes you can work for govt. before your clearance comes through but they won't let you into the areas that have the computers in them. You are in what they call a "cooler" which is basically a remote office somewhere. I'm sure the State Department is a secure area. I don't think the State Department is going to let anybody work on their computer systems without a background and security check do you? Think a little.
