To everyone with regards about my post #191 It was suggested that I share some additional thoughts on the subject.

With the launch of a new video on demand technology many companies will be rushing to the streets to get in on a piece of the pie. The post about Microsoft demonstrates yet another technology that they to will try to capitalize on.

In my opinion I don't think that we have to worry about this from players such as them or any of the other smaller companies. And here is why. Most of the companies will focus on what I believe will be the common user. With the numerous PC's in homes today and the threat of email becoming distinct more people are interested in being able to do audio and video over the net. If you take a look around you already see how the email applications are now allowing you to incorporate voice. And with speech recognition software becoming readily available it is very easy to sit down with your machine and speak you message in as opposed to typing it.

Where does that bring us. Will the next thing on the docket would have to be video. But with the limitations of the proper networks, phone-lines, etc.. we can only advance so fast. We all know that in order for video to become available band width will drastically have to be increased. This will come in time.

What is FNTN's niche in all of this. I believe they will focus more on the secure side of this problem. How??? By doing several things. It would be my hope that they are focused on encapsulating the video stream into some type of secure socket layer. They might be developing their own encryption routine to do this or capitalizing on someone elses. The other way I believe would be by the use of proprietary hardware developed in house.

I think we can all see the major distinction. FNTN's niche would be the big game players. Banking, financial, I even see a use for this in field operations for the armed forces.

I have provided a link below from yahoo that show some of the companies in this field.

Sorry for the long post, and remember all of this JMO.
