Lee,

There was an article in the WSJ within the last couple of days concerning european auto sales-main point was that euro manufacturers were getting clobbered due to price advantage of asian manuf. Most euros sales were down while asian manuf. were seeing double-digit % growth. However, as you mentioned in your original post US manuf. are doing extremely well. The economy seems to be quite confusing and the stock market seems to be disjointed from it. I think we will be seeing more poor countries getting extremely poorer and the US doing extremely well, it appears that we have insulated ourselves from the world, not in a real economic sense, but rather in a thought sense. Someone on the board a while back wrote that "summers here asian problems go away" and it couldn't be more true. If Indonesia and Russia and Malaysia go to hell in a handbasket well that's just because they didn't have enough sense to buy Yahoo at $150.
Just some ramblings.
