My favorite buy-out/merger candidates would be MDCO, VRC, RON, CDG, ATW (would have to likely be hostile as these guys don't sell ANYTHING).

But these days, anything can and will happen.

Did I see a glimmer of buying at the close...just a hair?

You know Liz (may I call you Liz?), that's a real good thought. There are some real steals now. Especially since some LT contract were negotiated at favorable rates last year, they become juicy earnings "kickers".

However, as the DOG said, many of these juicy dayrates are easily re-negotiated down to more "market" reasonable levels.

It does bear watching. I won't enter a new position, however, unless there are strong rumors and stocks move on them.
