It looks to me that if AMD wants to survive, they have to trim something, not add to the problem. Lower your financial liabilities. If you start make tons of money hire the folks back..

I say the get rid of the memory group. I guarantee that it lost at least 40M this quarter.

I live in Austin and AMD has been recruiting heavy here. Job
fairs, radio ads, etc etc.. So Dresden is not the only place
they are staffing.

It appears that weakness was in areas other than cpus. This is very consistent with industry wide pain. Why no pre-annoucement on the magnitude of the loss? I could not get in on the conference call. What was said. I hope strong forward statements since i am tired of taking a bath on this thing.
